Permanent Collection Project Assistant 


Start date and end dates to be determined with supervisor

Approximately 10 to 20 hours a week, M-F

  

Summer 2022 Application Opens: April 1, 2022 through April 30, 2022

Fall 2022 Application Opens August 1, 2022 through August 30, 2022

Spring 2023 Application Opens: November 1, 2022 through November 30, 2022

 

Please note: All internship positions are for course credit only. Interns must be currently enrolled college or university students.

 

 

Eligibility

 

Internships are available to matriculated college and master's-degree students who will receive course credit for the internship from their college or university.

 

Summary

 

The Registrar Department Intern works closely with the Director and Assistant Registrar Manager and other members of the Department staff to organize and archive primary sources related to permanent collection of the museum. San Antonio Museum of Art Interns gain first-hand experience on a meaningful project under the mentorship of museum professionals as they broaden their understanding of museum careers and related fields.

 

Description

 

The Registrar Department Intern assists with reconciling archived outgoing loan, incoming loan and permanent collection data. The intern must understand that they are working with confidential data. The job is primarily an office job but will include access to the permanent collection when accompanied by a member of the registrar’s department.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

Reconciling archived condition reports for permanent collection objects

Reconciling archived outgoing loan documents with permanent collection object files

Reconciling archived incoming loan documents with permanent collection object files

Other duties as assigned

 

Applicants must…

Be currently enrolled in a university program in education, art, art history, or related field.
