San Antonio Museum of Art seeks a Part Time Museum Education professional to join our Education Department.

This contracted position will work closely with the Education Department to lead art activities for family days, community outreach, and other programs as needed.  Experience teaching in an art education or informal setting required, as well as experience employing age-appropriate teaching methods with both children and adult learners.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as friendly, professional attitude are essential, including ability to work effectively with learners from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels.  Must be reliable and comfortable working with a broad range of studio art technique materials and processes.  Knowledge of art history, world cultures and art genres a plus. 

Must be able to work 5 to 15 hours per month: primarily evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in studio art.

·         Education experience in a museum, school or community organization.

·         Bilingual skills preferred.

·         Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills.
